President Alexander Stubb on Friday held a telephone conversations Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from Washington after holding meeting with US President Donald Trump in White House on Thursday.
“Good call with Zelenskyy of Ukraine from Washington DC. Mapping the way forward towards a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. We continue to work for peace with President of the US and the US administration,” Stubb wrote in a post on his social media platform X.
Zelenskyy in a post on his social media platform X also said that the Finnish President shared details of his meeting with Trump.
I spoke with President of Finland Alexander Stubb. It was a good conversation with important signals, and I’m grateful for the consistent and steadfast support. Alex shared details of his meeting with President Trump,” Zelenskyy wrote in his post.
Zelenskyy also congratulated Finland on signing an agreement with the United States on joint icebreaker construction that will undoubtedly enhance security in the Arctic.
Alexander Stubb together with Prime Minister Petteri Orpo made a working visit to the United States on October 9–10.
They held a meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday.
The Presidents signed a memorandum of understanding between Finland and the United States on a collaboration to grow the US arctic fleet.
