The police continued investigation into the incident of killing girlfriend by a man, who also killed himself in Kuopio on late July, said police on Tuesday.
After the preliminary investigation, police said that the relationship between the man and the woman was going to an end, which might have been the reason behind the murders.
Police also said that the suspect used his own licensed firearm for the murders.
The elderly man allegedly killed himself after gunning down his girlfriend in Kuopio, a municipality under North Savo region on July 28.
The man born in 1950s called the emergency centre and said that he shot his girlfriend of the same age before shooting himself.
Later police and rescue service people rushed to spot and found both the man and his girlfriend dead.
Police are investigating into the incident as murder.
The case, however, will not be forwarded to the prosecutor to frame charge as the suspect is already dead, said police.
