FM urges both parties mainly Israel to return to ceasefire

Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on Monday said that targeting aid workers or blocking humanitarian aid could not be accepted and urged all the parties, particularly Israel to return to ceasefire in Gaza.

She made the remarks while taking to journalists after the EU foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg, according to Finland in EU (Permanent Representation of Finland to the European Union).

“We cannot accept the targeting of aid workers or blocking humanitarian aid from the region. We call on both parties to return to the ceasefire now, especially Israel, but also Hamas to release all the remaining hostages,” Finland in EU wrote in a post on its social media platform X, quoting Valtonen as saying.

Meanwhile, the European Commission on Monday reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian people.

“We reiterate our unwavering support for the Palestinian people. Today (Monday), we announce a Comprehensive Support Programme for Palestinian recovery and resilience worth up to €1.6 billion,” the commission wrote in a post on its X.
