Another collision between train and vehicle took place at a level crossing in Heinävesi, a municipality under North Karelia region early Friday night, police said in a press release.
It was the third accident at the level crossing in Finland within a span of less than one week.
The accident took place at about 1:00 p.m. when a private car collided with the train at Karhilantie level crossing.
Some passengers of the car were injured in the accident.
The reason behind the accident could not be known. There was no barrier at the level crossing, said police.
Police did not divulge the identities of the injured people but said that they are foreign nationals.
None of the train passengers, however, was injured in the accident.
The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the case to find the reason behind the accident.
On August 5, one person was killed in a collision between a train and a van at a level crossing in Loimaa, a municipality in Western Finland.
Earlier on August 3, two people were killed in a collision between a train and a van at a level crossing in Siilinjärvi, a municipality under North Savo region.
