Finnish President Alexander Stubb and his spouse, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, will visit Vörå with a population of about 6,000 and Vaasa (about 70,000 inhabitants) in Ostrobothnia on the west coast of Finland next week.
President Alexander Stubb and his wife, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, will visit Vörå and Vaasa in Ostrobothnia on Finland’s west coast on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the Finnish president’s office notes in a statement.
The program will start at Norrvalla Sports Hall, where they will meet students from Vörå municipal schools.
KAJ, the Finnish band from Vörå set to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, will attend and perform at the event’s conclusion.
KAJ became known for their song that didn’t require much imagination, but for a reason or another, was noted even in Africa. “Bara bada bastu” (“Let’s Just Go To The Sauna”) was written by the three group members along with Anderz Wrethov, Kristofer Strandberg and Robert Skowronski. After winning Melodifestivalen 2025 with the most votes in the competition’s history, the song is set to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in mid-May.
During their visit President Stubb and Mrs. Innes-Stubb will also meet local residents at a public event in front of Vörå town hall, starting at 12:30 PM.
In the afternoon, the visit will continue at the University of Vaasa. President Stubb, awarded an honorary doctorate by the university in September 2024, will receive this honor. After the ceremony, he will deliver a speech on the transformation of world politics.
The day will conclude at the Wärtsilä Sustainable Technology Hub in Vaskiluoto, Vaasa, where the president and his wife will tour the Hub’s production, research and product development facilities.
