Finland on Sunday expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence in Syria and urged to proceed with a peaceful and inclusive political transition.
“Finland is deeply concerned over reported violence in Syria. Civilians have to be protected in all circumstances. We call on Syria to proceed with a peaceful and inclusive political transition,” said the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in a post on its social media platform X late Sunday night.
More than thousand people were killed in ongoing clashes in Syria's coastal region started on Thursday.
According to the observatory, allied paramilitary groups with the new administration have been involved in retaliatory killings following a series of attacks by remnants of the ousted Bashar al-Assad government against government troops earlier this week, reported Xinhua.
