A teenage student of a secondary school sustained wounds when a classmate attacked the student with knife at the school in Lahti, a municipality under Päijät-Häme region on Monday, school authority and police said.
The incident took place at Salpausselkä School at about 12:45 p.m. when the two students of 15-year-olds engaged in a quarrel and attacked each other.
At certain stage one of them attacked the other student with a knife at the upper arm and the student sustained wounds.
The injured student was taken to the hospital for treatment. The attacker fled the scene.
The school authority and police did not disclose the detail identities of the students.
School authority communicated with the parents of both the students.
Police are trying to arrest the attacker and are investigating into the case as attempted murder.
