President Alexander Stubb on Wednesday held telephone conversations with US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and discussed the situation in Ukraine, said Stubb in a post on his social media platform X.
“Today (Wednesday) I had phone calls with US President and Zelenskyy of Ukraine. Europe is united as Russia continues its war of aggression against Ukraine. The war must end. Ukraine has been constructive in the negotiations,” Stubb wrote in his post.
He also said that stronger sanctions are needed from both the US Congress and the European Union to put pressure on Russia.
“Today (Wednesday) I spoke with the President of Finland, Stubb, and the Chancellor of Germany, Merz. Among other topics, we discussed the latest developments from Türkiye, cooperation with the United States, and Ukraine’s European future. I am grateful for their support,” Zelenskyy wrote in a post on X.
