Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen and her Tunisian counterpart Mohamed Ali Nafti expressed their interest to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, in addition to strengthening the mechanisms of joint cooperation and consultation within the European Union.

Terming the relations between Finland and Tunisia as very good, the Foreign Ministers discussed the way to further enhance the cooperation at a meeting in Helsinki on Tuesday, according to the Finnish Foreign Ministry and the Tunisian Embassy to Finland.

Nafti praised the Finnish efforts that, in coordination with other Nordic countries, led to the organization of the Sustainable Business Forum on Green Transition on November 25, 2024, which was an opportunity to connect economic actors.

“Relations between Finland and Tunisia have always been very good, but we wish to develop them further. There are lots of opportunities related to trade between the two countries for both Finnish and Tunisian companies,” Valtonen said in a press release on the eve of the visit of Nafti.

The Foreign Ministers also discussed regional security in Europe and North Africa and cooperation on multilateral issues.

Nafti accompanied by a business delegation representing expertise in digitalisation and technologies, in particular.
