A total of 18 persons were killed and 317 others injured in 268 road accidents in Finland in August 2025, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of fatalities was two higher and the number of persons injured 50 lower than in August 2024.
Of the persons who were killed in August 2025, eight travelled by passenger car, three by van, one by motorcycle and one by lorry. Two pedestrians, one cyclist on a traditional bicycle, one cyclist on an electric bicycle and one road user were also killed.
Among the deceased, 12 were men and six women.
Meanwhile, a total of 118 people were killed and 1,997 others injured in 1,641 road accidents in the country in January August period.
