Support for the ruling alliance in Finland has reduced significantly and reached to the lowest level of the regime of the four-party alliance government, according to a survey commissioned by the national broadcaster Yle.
Meanwhile, the main opposition party in the parliament Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) remained as the most popular party with 24.7% support.
The popularity of SDP, however, also dropped by 0.4% compared to the previous month´s survey.
Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party), the largest component of the four-party alliance government secured second position with 19.1 percent support, which was 1.7 percent lower than the previous month.
Another opposition party Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party of Finland) remained third in the popularity list with 15.1% support, which was 1.2 percent higher than the previous month.
The radical rightist Perussuomalaiset (Finns Party), the second largest component of the alliance government placed fourth with 12.3 percent support, followed by oppositions Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance) with 10.1 percent support and Vihreä Liitto (Green League) with 8.6 percent support.
Popularity of all these three parties increased compared to the survey result in the previous month.
Two other components of ruling alliance the Suomenruotsalainenkansanpuolue (Swedish People’s Party of Finland-RKP) and the Suomen Kristillisdemokraati (Christian Democratic Party-CD) also lost popularity and placed seventh and eighth with 3.9 percent and 3.5 percent supports respectively.
Research organization Taloustutkimus conducted the survey through interviewing 2,844 people from July 7 August 5 and the margin of error is ± 1.8 percentage points.
