One more Finnish volunteer fighter was killed in Russian attack in eastern Ukraine, said a volunteer organisation named Your Finnish Friends (YFF) in post on its social media platform X late Sunday night.
“The Russian attack again claimed the life of a Finnish volunteer in eastern Ukraine. ´Sipa´ gave up all his possessions to go to Ukraine to defend peace, despite his mother's strong opposition. Sipa had a goal and he did not give up his goal,” said the YFF in the post.
He is the sixth Finnish volunteer reportedly killed in Ukraine in the Russian war of aggression.
Earlier in August, another Finnish volunteer Ville Mykkänen was killed in an action at Luhansk region in Ukraine, according to Sodan kokeneet, a Finnish mental health association supporting people who experience war.
In late July, the association also reported the death of the fourth Finn in combat in Ukraine since Russia's invasion in 2022.
