28 people drown in Finland in July this year

A total of 28 people drowned in Finland in July this year, according to the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Life Saving Association (Suomen Uimaopetus- ja Hengenpelastusliitto-SUH).

The number is much higher compared to the stipulated period of previous years.

According to the statistics of SUH, the number was 16 in July 2024 and July 2023 each.

The number was also much fewer in the previous month of this year.

A total of eight people drowned in Finland in June, 2025, which was 23 and 13 in June 2024 and June 2023 respectively.

So far 68 people drowned in the country in the first seven months of this year.

The number was 59 in January-July period of 2024 and the number was 46 in the first seven months in 2023.
