Two teenage girls were killed and another was injured critically in a road accident at Nurmijärvi, a municipality in Uusimaa region on Friday afternoon, police said.
The accident took place at about 6:30 p.m. when a private car with three girls of 17-year-old each onboard collided head-on with another private car bearing three people on Nummelantie road at the locality.
Driver and another passenger of the car bearing the teenage girls were killed on the spot in the accident while the rest passenger was injured. The injured girl was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The passengers of the other car, who born in 1970s, however, remained unhurt in the accident.
Police did not divulge the detail identities of the deceased and the injured girl and the reason behind the accident could not be known immediately.
The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the case to find out the circumstances surrounding the incident and the reasons behind it.
