One person was killed and several people were injured in a road accident at Jalasjärvi in Kurikka, a municipality under South Ostrobothnia region on Sunday, police said.
The accident took place at about 12: 40 p.m. when a private car coming from Tampere direction collided head- on with a van coming from the opposite direction.
Driver of the van died on the spot in the accident while the driver and a passenger of the car were critically injured.
At the same time another private car hit both the vehicles as a result the driver and passengers of the car were also injured.
The police, however, did not divulge the identities of the deceased and the injured persons.
Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the accident to find out the reason behind it.
