President Alexander Stubb on Sunday reiterated that Finland would continue supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes.
The President made the remarks in video message wishing the Ukrainian people marking the Independence Day of that country.
“Finland and we Finns have supported Ukraine strongly during your fight for independence and your rightful place as a part of the European family of nations. We will continue supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes,” the President said in the message posted on his social media platform X.
He wished Ukraine the best of Independence Day and a peaceful and prosperous future.
“Happy Independence Day, Ukraine. Slava Ukraini,” Stubb added.
Meanwhile, the Finnish government hoisted the Ukrainian flag at Senate Square on Sunday marking the Ukrainian Independence Day.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people in its fight for independence.
The ministry hoisted Ukrainian flag in front of its main building illuminated the building with the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
