A man was killed allegedly by a woman in Kajaani, a municipality under Kainuu region late Thursday night, police said on Friday.
The incident took place in a private residence at the city centre area when the woman attacked the man with a sharp weapon.
The victim sustained severe wounds at the upper part of his body. He was taken to the hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police arrested the woman from the nearby area after the incident.
Police, however, did not divulge the identities of the victim and the suspect and their relation.
Police are investigating into the case as murder and interrogating the suspect and witnesses to get more information in this regard.
