One person was killed in a lawnmower accident in Saarijärvi, a municipality in the Central Finland region on Saturday while another person was burnt to death in a building fire in Rovaniemi, a municipality in Lapland region on Friday evening, police said in separate press releases.
Police said that one person was crushed under the wheels of a riding lawnmower at Ratakankaantie area in Saarijärvi and died on the spot.
Responding to an alarm police and rescue services people rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Police, however, did not describe detail about the incident and divulge the identity of the victim.
Police are investigating into the case to find out the reason behind the death.
Meanwhile, in another incident, one person was killed after a fire broke out at an apartment building at Ratakatu area in Rovaniemi.
Responding to an alarm at about 12:00 O’clock, rescue service people and police rushed to the spot and found a person dead inside the apartment.
After the preliminary investigation, the police and rescue service people said that the smoke originated from an open fire in the apartment caused the death of the person.
The police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased.
Police did not suspect any link of crime to the incident and are investigating into the case as careless fire handing.
