One person was killed in a collision between a train and a van at a level crossing in Loimaa, a municipality in Western Finland on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
It was the second accident at the level crossing within a span of two days.
The accident took place at about 4:40 p.m. when the van knocked down the passenger train coming from Turku.
The driver of the van, who was alone in the vehicle died on the spot.
Responding to an alarm, Rescue Service people and police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the victim.
Police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased.
The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the case to find the reason behind the accident.
The case is being investigated as serious endangerment of traffic safety.
Earlier on August 3, two people were killed in a collision between a train and a van at a level crossing in Siilinjärvi, a municipality under North Savo region.
