One person was killed in a shooting incident in Kotka, a municipality on the southeastern coast of Finland late Saturday night, police said in a press release on Monday.
The murder took place at Hovinsaari area in the locality.
Police, however, did not disclose details about the incident, the identity of the deceased and the suspects at the preliminary stage of the investigation.
Police arrested some people from the spot and are interrogating them to get more information about the incident.
Local media reported that police took a total of five people to the custody for interrogation.
Police said that a technical investigation was conducted and now they are investigating into the case as murder.
